Compare those two options to two complementary colors of your choice -- say, blue and yellow. (WTF are complementary colors, Mindy?) In your columns just start listing objects and actions and feelings you associate with those colors, just to start generating some weird imagery and line -- "the soft blue clouds of routine" / "the bright hot sun of grief". Now put that aside, that was just for fun. Now imagine you are walking down a path, an actual path -- a sidewalk? A hiking trail? A steel bridge? Describe both this walk down the path and your train of thought about this impending decision, intermittently. The piece ends when you arrive at an edge of some sort. The last line is, "All there was left to do was leap."
