Thursday at 6:36pm PST the full moon peaks deep in Thursday at 6:36pm PST the full moon peaks deep in the realm of visionaries - at 19° of Aquarius. If the skies are clear where you are, this one is a super moon and will be a stunner. It’s an ideal time to sneak out in the dark, lie back on some warm asphalt or cool grass and look up, breathe in the great mystery. Nothing is more Aquarius then getting stoned on stars and moons. Aquarius is fixed air, the Most Air, an archetype of collective consciousness and imagination. It’s known for its drive to innovate and originate, for its love of strange ideas and plans that hatch in the furthest reaches of the mind; it’s all very crystals forming in the cracks of the real. What it values most is love and freedom for all sentient beings, and its greatest enemy is fear – fear is the mind killer – so wherever Aquarius rules your chart, that’s where you’re likely learning the most about fear and fearlessness.

All full moons can be intense, and this one is happening amidst some very challenging astrology. If it feels like you have not made any real progress in the last six months in manifesting the deeper vision you are holding for your life, this week might be very hard. This full moon, then, is giving us permission to honor the real limits we are up against, and to be weird, and take some extra mental space – to tune in and turn on, even if we don’t have time to drop out properly. Whatever is daunting you about the world, about your situation, about the changes you want to make, Aquarius invites you to try and chill about it. Not because it isn’t worth getting worked up about - it is - but because to get where we want to be, we have to learn how to return to a state of equanimity when provoked or activated or enraged – a state in which we are far more effective.

Whatever calms and centers you – walking, calling in your ancestors, listening to starship bridge ambient noise while foam rollering your back – give yourself the full moon gift of doing it. The Sabian symbol for 19° of Aquarius is “a forest fire quenched.” May we all have pristine visions of how exactly we might meet the most destructive forces in the world with equal creativity and ferocity and love.

The moon is brand new today, going dark exact at 1 The moon is brand new today, going dark exact at 10:55 am PT at 5° of Leo the fire lion. Leo is an archetype of freedom and self-mastery and the full flowering of personal creative expression. It’s into joyous monarchy, relaxed strutting, demanding attention, drinking the good stuff and being the good stuff. Wherever Leo rules in your chart, it’s got secrets to reveal about your individuation, that spiraling growth by which an acorn becomes an oak tree and each of us becomes the oak tree version of ourselves - full grown, full-souled, our specific gifts seen and developed and on offer to the world. Wherever you are at on your life journey, the Leo new moon is suggesting the show isn’t over till it’s over - if you’re cooking up a dramatic rebirth, born from a rock and hard place, it’s a good time to take that next step, or leap.

New moons in general are invitations to pause, contract, rest if needed, and start again. This one is arriving in the midst of two weeks of rough astrological weather - a triple conjunction in Taurus of the north node and Mars and Uranus, creating an urgent need to shake things up, get free from restrictions, break up and re-form foundations; and Saturn in Aquarius is opposing Mercury in Leo and then squaring the Uranus in Taurus. I pray this isn’t affecting you personally, but if it is, it’s probably time to breathe, bring your flailing limbs back to center, and dig deeper. The urgency you are feeling to change it all rfn, it’s good information, and it’s ok to slow it down, do it in phases, make it less catastrophic, more sustainable.

Bringing an instinct or idea into full fruition is a massive and holy undertaking, full of false climaxes and stops and restarts. The idea must be allowed to transform in the process of manifestation, as it meets the limits of reality and reality’s terms. That’s a good thing - that’s how creation works. When in doubt, try being curious and welcoming what’s feels hard and limiting - how might the limits be providing a container? Then use this new moon - and the next and the next - to call in the nutrients and resources needed, the pleasure and love and joy, so that life can continue growing.
The moon is fat and peaking today at 11:38 am PT a The moon is fat and peaking today at 11:38 am PT at 21° of Capricorn, the cosmic sea goat. Capricorn is an archetype of actualization. It encodes the secrets of manifestation - dedication, discipline, saltiness; the will to get up every day and work at hard things. It teaches us how to climb the mountain of life, how to build real solid things in the world, how to overcome obstacles by embracing them as the path. Whenever energy is activated in Capricorn, I try to catch as much of it as I can. If it were a drink I’d be drinking it, I’d be pouring it in a bath and soaking in it, I’d be baptizing my power crystals with it - Capricorn is bringing the infusion of spiritual strength we need.

Having said that, the moon doesn’t have an easy time in Capricorn. All this hard conscious effort isn’t really the moon’s thing. The moon is more into kicking back on a throne of soft grass by a clear creek, feeling feelings and channeling love. But together, they can become a powerful team - all that feeling and love is forced to channel itself into focused action, and all that hard work gets wiser and more sustainable by weaving in hydration breaks, feelings, stretching, Epsom salt baths.

This full moon is conjunct Pluto, planet of death/rebirth/transformation, and it’s pulling a thread through from how the year began - the new moon in Capricorn was January 2, conjunct a Venus retrograde. We know a thing or two now that we didn’t know then, about what specific challenges this year is bringing. As we dig in our heels, push back against the tide of hate, and challenge and change some laws and lawmakers, we are also likely facing some personal obstacles about how we give and receive love. The structures of our relationships might be in the process of transforming. Wherever you’re at, this is a good moment to pause and honor how far you’ve come. You’ve come really really far. This full moon wants to help us release some resistance to how hard it’s been, how hard it is, how hard it will continue to be. It it wants to help us love this mountain, this life, this hard work of becoming. This is the heroic journey - learning how to love in this hard-edged world. Happy full moon 🌕
Tonight at 7:53 pm PST the moon goes dark and rene Tonight at 7:53 pm PST the moon goes dark and renews herself at 7° of Cancer. It’s both synchronicity and irony to have a new moon arrive in Cancer, sign of the great Mother, an archetype of protection and nurturing and care, just as those of here in the U.S. are absorbing the news that an essential protection for all those who can bear children has been stripped away.

We are reaping what the Republicans have sown, for decades now. When they couldn’t muster enough popular support in the 1980s for their program of slashing social programs and government protections for the people, they turned for votes to the religious right – an extreme radical minority – by promising to fight for the criminalization of abortion and bodily autonomy. That strategy hasn’t been successful alone – they’ve had to deform this already struggling democracy, suppress votes, gerrymander voting districts, filibuster all Democratic legislation, stack the Supreme Court, and in the last few years, sign on to promoting an alternate reality and the Big Lie. This is part of what we knew was coming when Trump was elected. The consequences continue to be very real, and there may be more losses of civil rights if this court is not checked.

If you are grieving and enraged, yes. Feeling and channeling fury is a kind of necessary emotional labor right now. Cancer might be known for the more watery emotions, but in the end, it’s a Protectress. The channeling of this fresh lifeforce is everything – it can burn us up from the inside, or it can erect and defend boundaries, it can demand and create and nurture a new world. I am moved as many are by the idea that what we are living through is the death of this old rotten, racist, sexist system, which makes way for a birth. We all get to be mothers of this revolution if we want to be.

This new moon is about as manifesty as it gets. Let’s use it to get quiet and declare our devotion to whatever we are calling in next, both personally and for the collective. Anything connected to love, to making it safe to be vulnerable, to breathing life into communities and systems of care, is likely to receive a signal boost.
Today, in the small hours of the morning – 4:52 Today, in the small hours of the morning – 4:52 am PST – the moon peaked at 23° of Sagittarius, the wise archer philosopher. Sagittarius is mutable, transformative fire - it’s passionate, optimistic, courageous, and expansive. It’s mostly interested in travelling to the farthest reaches of consciousness in search of Truth, in studying ideas and then crystallizing those ideas into ideals and philosophies, and then seeding greater light in the world by living out those fresh ideals. It’s kind of a psychedelic Santa Claus, gifting us with gorgeous questions and vision quests that ultimately illuminate our deepest natures. Sagittarius also likes to party. It knows how to get a little loose, a little loud, a little toasty. It knows one of the surest paths to truth and purpose is joy.

This is the last full moon of spring, as we’re now just one week out from the summer solstice and the peak of the light. Whatever house Sagittarius leads in your chart, you may be experiencing an encouraging fruition of something you started back in December, or even Decembers of 2019, (the before times!) back when we had the last eclipse-free Sagittarius new moon. You may also be getting a kind of boost in your capacity to see the big-picture, like maybe for a limited time, all the lights are on. You may have been feeling an instinct to review how you got here - what caused the effects you are now experiencing? What new dream is calling you forward, what new effect do you wish you could create?

While full moons and summer solstices are not time to plant seeds or set intentions, the new dreams and visions you have at this time are important. This next week offers us some time to reflect on what is finishing, to celebrate or solemnly honor it, and to feel how we have changed, to feel our new edges. Everything we have ever been through is nourishment for the soil of what comes next. To get there, to the next, we must become the living cause of the new dreams we wish to achieve. The Sagittarius full moon wants to swell our hearts with bravado and optimism and resolve - we can do this friends. We can change. We can evolve. We can create a more loving, more just world.
Early this morning at 4:30am PST the moon went dar Early this morning at 4:30am PST the moon went dark at 9° of Gemini, our first proper new moon for 2 months. Deep breaths. Gemini is represented by The Lovers. Mystically speaking, it’s about separation and unification - how parts realize themselves as whole, how opposites contain eachother, and how, potentially, opposites conjoining can lead to something more. Gemini encodes the secrets to evolution: how attraction and desire lead to creativity and new forms of life. In the north, it’s in charge of moving us out of the rebirth and enlightenment of spring into the expansion and integration of summer. It does this through the powers of air, through pollination, flower sex, other kinds of sex - idea sex - ideas taking flight through language and spreading new awarenesses around. Wherever Gemini styles your chart, you might have a gift for writing and gossip, for pick up lines that actually work; you might also be good at having many selves and dimensions at once, at some fresh, nonbinary genius.

I don’t know what you’ve been through in the last two months, but I know what I’ve been going through, and what we’ve been going through collectively. If you’re feeling emotionally and spiritually depleted, defeated by the relentless cycle of violence, exhausted and overwhelmed, yes. That’s real. If you’ve been needing permission to tap out, to rest and reset, this new moon offers that to you. Please take it. This new moon is also bringing some ideal conditions for starting over, for beginning a beginning. The Sabian symbol for 9° of Gemini is “a quiver full of arrows.” If you’ve been playing along with the alchemical cycle of the natural world, trying to sync up your own process to get that right-timing signal boost, you are in the last few weeks of a citrinitas, a psychological spring. This is the time when light and consciousness are peaking. Whatever you’ve discovered about yourself, whatever insights have arrived, it’s time to call in the integration and application of that knowledge. What new path or approach or project will you create? This is a very potent moment - be careful what you wish for, and, use those arrows! We need your gifts.
Wow. Are you ok? This last month has been 🤢🤮 Wow. Are you ok? This last month has been 🤢🤮 very rough cosmic weather, this last week, even rougher, all culminating in some kind of graduation death moon weekend. I’m just catching up on the collective news, and what the unholy fuck. White supremacist hatred and greed is like an acid, trying to etch us all into nothing more than a series of trauma responses, too overwhelmed and sick with anxiety and grief to build something else, something loving and warm and safe and connected. Fuck that. Fuck that. If you are feeling strong, check on your squad, make sure everyone made it through, see who needs some witnessing or other support. If you’re not feeling strong, if you’ve been emptied out, scraped out, depleted, right - time to rest and refuel, replenish and recharge. In spite of these eclipse power outages, it is still Taurus season - Taurus plays the long game. We must play the long game. If you need a moment, take a moment. Take several moments. Sending you all so much love. This stunning death/birth piece is by @smileatthemoon_
Sunday at 9:15pm PST, the moon is full at 25° of Sunday at 9:15pm PST, the moon is full at 25° of Scorpio, and we have a total lunar eclipse – a blood moon. Scorpio is famous for its intensity – it’s an archetype of healing through underworld journeying, of transformation through the deep waters of feeling. Scorpio initiates us with what stings, what hurts and infuriates and desecrates. Scorpio wants us to fiercely defend what is most vulnerable and sacred. It also wants us to bravely feel our own vulnerability, our own sacredness. When a Scorpion healing is called in, we may need to take to the streets in rage, and we need to collapse and grieve, probably both. It’s imperative for the latter that we find safe places and people to let our guard down with. To work with it, we have to soften and remove our armor. We have to be raw and tender; to feel our most difficult feelings, our experiences of powerlessness. If we have had experiences of being victimized or traumatized or disrespected, left out or unloved or under-defended, we might need to reconnect with those parts, witness them with empathy, honor what they learned and still carry. Poison in the right amount becomes medicine.

Based on what’s activated in the collective right now, I wouldn’t be surprised if we were all working with toxic power dynamics and the wounding of the feminine. Here in the US, an ongoing coup by an extreme right-wing minority is threatening to remove the civil rights of the majority; to deny those with wombs agency over their own sacred bodies. My dreams have all been about betrayal and love and sisterhood. This is a south node eclipse, and again, a total eclipse, so it’s here to clear out something that is no longer working. “Clearing” is not exactly a clearing, however – it’s more like a revealing. Old patterns do not get removed. Rather, we become so conscious of them, they can no longer be enacted unconsciously. From this position of (painful) awareness, it becomes possible to pause when an old pattern activates; to interrupt it, to do something new. However this is hitting you, I hope this eclipse renews your relationship with your sanctity, your power, your wisdom, and your “holy no.” Love & protection on us all 🙌🏼
